Draft pending legal review. This document is a working template that describes how the platform is built to operate. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and completed by qualified counsel — including the operator's legal name, address and governing law — before any launch.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, display name and a salted, hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Predictions and orders: the states and colours you select, slot quantities, order references and their payment and allocation status.
- Payment information: payments are processed by the payment provider. We receive a provider reference, amount and status. We do not receive or store card numbers.
- Technical information: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and limited request data (such as IP address) used for security and rate limiting.
- Messages: anything you send through the contact form.
2. How we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to verify your email address.
- To record your predictions, process orders and provide receipts.
- To administer the challenge, including verifying eligibility if a prize is offered.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and duplicate transactions.
- To publish aggregate statistics. Individual predictions are never published with your identity.
3. Cookies
We use a single essential, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. Your selections are stored in your own browser's local storage until you check out. We do not use advertising cookies.
4. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help run the platform (such as hosting, database, email and payment providers), when required by law, or to verify and pay a prize winner under the official rules. We do not sell personal information.
5. Shareable cards
Shareable prediction cards contain only a state, a prediction colour, the election year and the 50 States name. They never include payment details, order references or account information. Whether to share a card is always your choice.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed with a memory-hard algorithm, sessions are stored server-side and can be revoked, administrative actions are logged, and access to the database is restricted to the application server. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users of a breach as the law requires.
7. Retention
We keep account, order and payment records for as long as your account is open and for the period required for legal, tax and audit purposes. You can ask us to close your account.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Send requests through the contact page, choosing “Privacy request”.
9. Age
The platform is not directed to children. The minimum age to participate will be set by the official rules and applicable law.
