1. About the platform
50 States is an independent prediction platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any political party, candidate, campaign, government institution or election authority. Predictions are forecasts. They are not votes and have no effect on any election.
2. Eligibility
You may use the platform only if you meet the eligibility requirements in the official rules, including minimum age and permitted jurisdictions, and only where participation is lawful. You must not use any tool or method to get around location, age or payment-provider controls.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity on your account. Provide accurate information, keep one account per person, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
4. Predictions and slots
- Each slot is one prediction in one state, for RED or BLUE.
- Each state has a limited number of slots. When they are all allocated, the pool closes and shows as FULL.
- A FULL pool does not determine a state's election result. Actual results are recorded only from identified authoritative sources.
- Displayed crowd predictions reflect platform participants only and are not polling.
5. Purchases
- Slots cost $1 USD each, with a minimum of 4 slots per purchase.
- Prices are calculated by our servers. Slots are allocated only after payment has been verified with the payment provider.
- If availability changes before payment is completed, the affected selection is not charged.
- Refunds and cancellations are governed by the refund terms in the official rules.
6. Demo and development modes
When the site is labelled DEMO or DEVELOPMENT, figures may be simulated, checkout is simulated and no money is charged. Nothing done in those modes creates an entry into any prize draw or any right to a prize.
7. The prize
The grand prize described on the site is a proposal. No prize is offered, guaranteed, funded or available until the official rules have been published and the required legal, funding and payment-provider approvals have been recorded. If offered, the prize is governed entirely by the official rules, which prevail over anything else on the site. Void where prohibited.
8. Acceptable use
Do not interfere with the platform, attempt to access another person's account or data, automate purchases, manipulate capacity or statistics, or use the platform for anything unlawful.
9. Suspension
We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or the official rules, or where required to protect participants or comply with the law.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
